CBRE is selling old CPS Energy property that has big mixed-use potential.

CPS Energy has selected Dallas-based commercial real estate giant CBRE to market and sell almost six acres of its old property near the Pearl. CBRE will sell the 5.93-acre lot at 326 W. Jones Avenue, which includes a partially deconstructed two-story office, formerly known as the Jones Avenue Service Center, and a light industrial building, according to a news release.

The property sits on the front of the River Walk in Museum Reach, which connects to various attractions, including the San Antonio Museum of Art, The DoSeum, The Witte Museum, Brackenridge Park, and the Japanese Tea Gardens. CPS Energy will still give one acre of the property to SAMA for future expansion.

The site is not far from the Pearl.

"It is our hope that the remaining six acres will become an asset for our community as well," said CPS Energy Interim President and CEO Rudy D. Garza in the news release. "We’re proud to have served our customers and community out of the Jones Avenue facility for nearly a century."

The property is designated for development, including high-density multifamily, residential, and mixed-use office and retail.
