We all go through some sort of ordeal trying to figure out what to do with our weekends and if we haven’t got any plans then staying indoors and binging on Netflix is the next best thing.
However, fret not, because something in our weekend guide is sure to pique your interest and get you out of the house for some fun!
Here’s a list of activities you could do over the weekend, either solo or with friends and/or family.
With the Le Masterpiece Sip and Paint Event happening on July 29, now everyone can paint! Attendees can expect to leave the class with their very own painting of a ballet dancer, even if you have absolutely no painting skills. Don’t worry, there will be a professional artist to make sure you don’t start reminiscing about your painting days in preschool.
Tickets for the event are priced at RM120 per person and come with a glass of red wine, free flow of coffee, tea, snacks, and all the art materials required for the class. Attendees may come in a group of five and enjoy a free bottle of red wine! You are also welcome to bring your own beverages and snacks.

Skip your brunch date and join Maia Arte for a two-hour workshop on authentic Iranian Tezhip Art this Saturday or Sunday.
For more than a thousand years, the art of tezhip or tazhib has been practised throughout the Muslim world. From the Arabic word zahab, which implies gold, comes the word tazhib. Tazhib is mostly employed to embellish manuscripts. Today, calligraphy and tazhib are still frequently used in practise. Small brushes are used by illuminators to apply crushed gold, gouache, watercolor, and natural colours in a variety of themes.
The workshop is part of the Godown Artists Market happening this weekend from July 30-31 which will feature other various types of workshops and activities!

Visit the Wei-Ling Gallery in Brickfields to see how Malaysian contemporary artists coloured the local art scene over the past 20 years
“A Paradigm Shift – Reflecting on Twenty Years of The Malaysian Art Scene” portrays the evolution of experimental artists during a period marked by rapid technological advancements, a fluctuating economy, and political upheaval. The featured artworks also grapple with the country’s most sensitive predicaments and issues revolving around identity, equality, and ideology.
Participating artists are Anurendra Jegadeva, Chen Wei Meng, Cheong Kiet Cheng, Chin Kong Yee, Choy Chun Wei, Hamidi Hadi, H.H. Lim, Ivan Lam, Juhari Said, Noor Azizan Paiman, Rajinder Singh, Sabri Idrus, Sean Lean, Wong Chee Meng and Yau Bee Ling.

Masters of Disguise is a wildlife photography exhibition by Chien C. Lee. Chien has roamed the tropical rainforests across four continents over the past 25 years, seeking out nature’s devious designs and documenting them through his camera. His pictures show how living organisms adapt to surroundings, sometimes utilizing deceit, in their attempt to survive their harsh environment.
Those in Kuala Lumpur can go to GMBB this Saturday from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm to enjoy a tour of the gallery personally conducted by the photographer.
