Teen Art Hour Clay Critters: The last Teen Art Hour of the summer has you creating coastal critters with polymer clay. You have the option of following the instructions or summoning your inner artist to design your own unique creature. The possibilities are endless! Come on down to the Youth Desk beginning Monday, Aug. 1, to register and pick up your Take-And-Make bag. Space is limited to 15 teens, ages 13-18.
Middles Art August Ocean Coral Blow Painting: Minimal materials are needed to create this masterpiece; it doesn’t even require a paint brush! Young artists ages 6-12 will blow paint through a straw onto construction paper to make a colorful seascape of coral. This project can get messy, so some parental supervision is required. Registration begins Friday, Aug. 12, when you will receive a Take-and-Make bag containing the supplies you’ll need. Follow along with the step-by-step instructions on YouTube as you complete your painting. Don’t blow your chance to do this art- only 30 spots are available!
The Fresh Food Bonanza: Welcome to The Fresh Food Bonanza! Starting Monday, July 18 we are inviting patrons to pick from the many fresh herbs and veggies in our garden, take the pickings home, and create some edible magic in the kitchen! Patrons can submit photo entries of their delicious creations via email to epock@portlandmilibrary.com for a chance to win a prize. Each week, patrons can submit as many photos as they’d like and a winner will be drawn every Friday until Sept. 23. We can’t wait to see what kinds of tasty plates our patrons will create!
