A furry Long Island artist is raising money for a good cause.
DogVinci, the painting dog, is a creative canine whose masterpieces sell for $50 to $100 each, according to WPIX.
The 3-year-old black lab, whose real name is Dagger II, was destined to be a service dog — but he was disqualified due to his fear of stairs.
Instead, he ended up staying with owner Yvonne Dagger, who is an artist.

NATIONAL PUPPY DAY COMES TO THE DAILY NEWS
"He always lays down next to me," she said.
"And one day he was nudging me, and I said, 'Do you want to paint, Dagger?' And his tail started to wag."

Dagger decided to make her dog's apparent dream a reality by putting together a doggy paintbrush handle using a paper towel tube and duct tape.
Now, DogVinci follows his owner's commands to pick out a paint color — non-toxic paints, of course — and put the brush to the canvas.
"I'm jealous in a way," she said. "I want to paint like Dagger, because he doesn't know of anything else. He just knows what he knows and that brush stroke is just gonna land where it lands."

The painting pooch's work is in high demand; Dagger told Inside Edition that she's been "swamped" with commissions from as far away as England.
All the proceeds of his creations go to a good cause — Canine Companions for Independence.
"He's helping in his own little four-legged way to provide highly trained assistance dogs to people with disabilities."
