Artist Malaika Favorite's work is known for its use of color.
Her work is both figurative and abstract and has been featured in shows throughout the Baton Rouge area. Her most recent exhibit, "I am Everything, Everything is Me," showed through September at Baton Rouge Gallery. Next up are October shows in the Southern University Visual Arts Gallery and the Southern University Museum of Art.
Favorite creates her art in her studio in Geismar, which is also home to her past work. Walking into the studio is like walking into an explosion of color, which not only offers a retrospective of her artwork but the story of her life's journey.
