Manhattan: Eighteen months into the Biden administration, all are able to appreciate new, uncontrolled chaos in the world. Hours after his inauguration, he canceled oil pipelines and exploration and limited support for the oil industry. That’s why gas is $5 a gallon. Now he’s begging Venezuela, Iran and other countries to please send oil.
It’s clear he has no knowledge of our economic system other than to blackmail and extort. His profound weakness has allowed hyenas around the world to act. It’s not a coincidence that after his disorganized Afghanistan exodus, leaving thousands of people and billions of dollars of equipment behind, that he was seen for what he is: a weak, frail, fragile, senile old man. Every aggressive world leader understood and took action. Vladimir Putin captured Crimea under Barack Obama, a younger weak leader, but he was contained during the Donald Trump years. Putin wages a war that causes the deaths of thousands and the destruction of a country that was peaceful, and economic and physical harm in much of the world.
The Chinese are aggressively exploring every avenue to take advantage of American weakness under President Biden. The FBI and MI6 in London warned of Chinese dangerous misbehavior in the business and academic world. This is not new news. The Iranians are continuing terrorism, even sending drones to attack oil facilities in the Mediterranean, dominating multiple countries including Iraq, Syria, Lebanon and Yemen while attacking Israel. The Democratic Party has no answer except to rehash Jan. 6 allegations. So useful!
Our once-majestic country can be remedied with proper leadership — hopefully. Gil Lederman

Kearny, N.J.: Short of going to war with Russia, no president could have stopped Putin. Do you idiots want World War III? Joseph F. Catrambone
Cincinnati: I am an independent. I consider many in President Biden’s Democratic administration incompetent, including several cabinet officers and other high officials. I cannot remember an administration so festooned with public servants representing the Peter Principle. However, Republican Party officials are little better, making a hash of post-Jan. 6 events. The vast majority of Republican officeholders and party professionals are afraid of Donald Trump, including House and Senate leaders. Profiles in courage are few, even though criticizing Mr. Trump should be as easy as falling asleep. In the midterms, distinct and important policy differences between the two parties will likely be submerged for many voters by Trump’s tyrannical behavior, giving Democratic incompetence the edge. Paul Bloustein
Bronx: To Voicer Elizabeth D’Angelo: You are correct that never, ever should a sitting president of the United States speak against any department of our government (in Biden’s defense, the majority of Americans agree with him). You seem to have forgotten ex-President Donald Trump taking Vladimir Putin’s side over the evidence our justice system received while in a foreign country (the majority of Americans disagreed with him). Voters will not forget this either. Lydia Milnar
Kew Gardens Hills: How ironic is it that Brittney Griner actually wants to return to such a horrible and repressive country as the U.S.A.? For years, Griner and her friends in the WNBA have put down our country and they have been extremely ungrateful for the blessings they have received here. I can only hope that spending a few months in Russia has made Griner see the light, but somehow I doubt it. Barry Koppel
Bronx: The Mets have a young fill-in radio broadcaster, Jake Eisenberg, who has learned to call a ballgame well. He paints the picture so you can visualize what’s happening during the game, unlike John Sterling and Suzyn Waldman. Harvey Roth
Staten Island: To Voicer Jim Ranium: You got half of it right — 99% of politicians are useless and/or corrupt. But your really ultra-left comments about the NYPD are moronic. Just because you have had issues with them in the past doesn’t mean you have to paint a broad brush over all of them. You want to make yourself useful? Stop electing these liberals with their turnstile justice system. Then maybe you’ll change your tune. Thomas Fraumeni
Manhattan: Voicer Jim Ranium must not have much going on in his cranium if he thinks any law enforcement officer could know when he was going to become the victim of a crime. Police aren’t soothsayers and they’re not babysitters. There are 2 million people in our nation’s prisons, so how does Ranium think they got there? As a former NYC Community Council president used to hearing people whine to police about things cops can’t legally do anything about, I can advise Ranium to tune into any of the myriad nightly news shows or dozens of crime docs that populate the airwaves. He can learn something — especially that it’s not all about him. Sam Katz
Fall River, Mass.: President Biden should bestow a special commendation upon bodega employee Jose Alba for his distinguished service in responding instinctively to do what was necessary to preserve his own life. Unlike the now-deceased attacker Austin Simon, Alba appeared to be a typical Big Apple working stiff trying to make an honest living and provide for his family. Charles Winokoor
Astoria: Deli clerk Jose Alba stabbed violent ex-con Austin Simon after Simon came behind his deli counter and attacked him. All of this is on videotape, so there’s no ambiguity. Additionally, Austin’s girlfriend stabbed Alba in the arm with a concealed knife. However, Austin and his girlfriend are Black, same as Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg, a Black supremacist lunatic if ever there was one, so, for defending his life against a Black thug, Alba was slapped with a murder charge and off to Rikers Island he went. This does not bode well for law-abiding New Yorkers. Bradley Morris
Boynton Beach, Fla.: To Voicer Helena Mecca: Thank you for making me laugh on Thursday morning. I needed it. Your comment, “Maybe if you listened to Fox News with an open mind, you might learn something,” is comedy at its most hilarious. I, for one, decline your invitation to watch Fox News, aka the Joseph Goebbels Propaganda Network, but thank you again for that laugh. I’ll be smiling all day thinking about it. William T. Bredin
Charlotte, N.C.: Sounds like the Constitution-loving, pro-First Amendment Republican Ron DeSantis wants to limit free speech to only what he wants taught in schools. There will be lessons about how slavery was involuntary relocation, how American Indians were so friendly that they just gave the invading white men their lands, and how you can only be attracted to the opposite sex or else you’re going to hell. Hey Ronnie, why don’t you save Florida a lot of money and replace all your teachers with TV monitors running Fox News all day? After all, future generations don’t need to know the truth — that’s the Republicans’ biggest enemy. They love the uneducated! Ron Turek
Brooklyn: To Voicer Greg Ahl: Thank you, Greg, you are my new hero. You nailed it. It amazes me how simple it would be to solve 90% of our problems if we did the following: Take the money out of politics; impose term limits on all elected officials, including the politicized Supreme Court; and make all corporations pay their fair share of taxes. Oh, and also put the low-life, seditionist-in-chief Agent Orange in jail. Gary Butler
Pennsauken, N.J.: I do not support abortion but I do support the mother’s right to control her body. A woman with some professional advice and information should have the option to decide how to handle her pregnancy. There are a lot of options and a lot of reasons. Let the particular lady decide, not you. Thomas Pallies
